The European Medicines Agency (EMA) just announced that it now won’t finalise its policy on sharing data from clinical trials until October. This is the policy that hundreds of you wrote to them about in June.

The Management Board of the EMA was going to finalise the wording of the policy by mid-July so the policy could be enacted in the autumn. Apparently, members of the Board could not agree on the wording but still support the EMA’s June decision. The EMA will take additional contributions from Board members and plans to finalise the policy at its next Management Board Meeting on 2nd October 2014.

This means we have another chance to persuade the EMA to go back to the better policies they proposed last year.

More soon…
