Síle Lane and Ben Goldacre gave evidence to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee’s inquiry into research integrity along with Dr Simon Kolstoe.
Watch the session:
Publication bias in clinical trials is the most thoroughly researched aspect of research integrity – having been discussed in detail for over 30 years. And now the area with quite a focus and some concerted work on solutions. Clinical trial transparency could really be seen as a model for how we might tackle other areas of research integrity and publication bias.
The UK has been leading conversations on clinical trial transparency and cannot afford to be left behind when it comes to regulation. We need to see the EU clinical trials regulation – due to come into force in 2019 – be adopted by the UK.
