Having access to the raw data of a scientific study in order to test its results is the bottom line of the scientific method. It is absolutely unacceptable that the data used for evaluating the safety of products used by millions of EU citizens is not accessible to independent scientists and the public. Clinical trials in particular are the basis of medicines’ safety assessment and their full results must be made publicly available, and in an easily re-usable manner.
