The Lustgarten Foundation is committed to advancing basic and clinical research towards finding a cure for pancreatic cancer. The percentage of pancreatic cancer patients who are offered and enrolled in clinical trials is extremely low, and in order to change the odds for pancreatic cancer patients, we need to encourage patients to seek out clinical trials as the “standard of care” more often. But, to achieve this, we must improve the clinical trial system first. To build patient confidence in the system, we must improve the way clinical data is offered and shared, improve clinical trial recruitment and design, and improve the overall reputation of clinical trials to the general public. The Lustgarten Foundation proudly supports the AllTrials USA effort to improve the clinical trial system in order to improve cancer patient care.
